Events

Our current plan is to hold annual fundraising events in the early Spring timeframe. In 2006, we held our first event in September commemorating the 1 year anniversary of Jeff's passing. We held a dinner service followed by a Texas Hold'm Tournament at the Country Club in Blue Springs. By all accounts the event was a success. We had about 60 attendees and we had 4 guest speakers including two of Jeff's teachers. We also had a silent auction where we offered such items as a weekend getaway and an NFL football autographed by the Chiefs Larry Johnson. It was great fun, and the tournament was a nail biter wrapping up at right around midnight.

Since then, we have moved venues to Vesper Hall in Blue Springs, and we've pushed the date back into the spring. We've been able to accomodate more folks, and have been offering another choice for entertainment: a team-based Trivia Night. So whether you play poker or not, you should be geared up for this year's event!

If you can't attend, any donation you could make would be greatly appreciated, you can simply click the "Donate" button from any page on the site.
